TURNING OFF AIR-CONDITIONER WHEN DRIVING IN WATER

When you are driving inside water that is up to a foot, it is absolutely necessary that one turns off the air-conditioning unit.

It is understandable why people leave their air conditioners on especially when it is raining. They direct the cool air toward the front windshield so it can stop the phase transition of water molecules onto the screen and thus they can have a clearer viewing through the glass. While leaving your window down will get you and your car wet, it will also achieve the same purpose of the air-conditioning unit while driving on a wet cold day.

Driving in water with your windows shut and your air-conditioner turned on could cause a painless death due to inhalation of carbon monoxide fumes which are forced to return into the car system since they cannot easily escape into the water.

Some lives can be saved by taking this safety measure.

However, the best safety measure would be to drive on dry roads and turn back when you get on flooded roads.

Driving on a wet road with your windows shut and your air conditioner on is safe but on flooded roads, it is not. Cars are designed for roads and not floods.

Please get the word out and safe a life today.
